Introductions

Recruiters sometimes ask CVinfo.me for someone. If you are open to it you may be asked about a role — your details move only when you say yes to it.

Companies occasionally write to CVinfo.me looking for someone. Introductions is the opt-in that lets you be one of the people considered — without being listed anywhere, and without anyone getting your details before you agree.

It is deliberately small. There is no marketplace, no profile for recruiters to browse, no ranking.

How it works#

  1. You switch it on — on your home page, or under Settings → Introductions. Off unless you do. Add a headline ("Product marketing manager, B2B SaaS") and where you are; those help the match and nothing else.
  2. A company asks. They describe the role on the hiring page. That request goes to a person, not an algorithm.
  3. You are asked, by e-mail, what the role is about — the company, the role, the detail they gave. One link, and it is yours alone.
  4. Only your yes releases your name and contact. Say no, or ignore it, and nothing moves. You are not asked again about that role.

Nothing about you is ever shown publicly, and no other member of CVinfo.me can see that you are on the list.

What you get out of it#

Roles that are not advertised, described by the person hiring for them, with no application to write before anyone looks at you. If nothing fits, nothing happens — the opt-in costs you nothing and no credits.

Where you stand#

Once you are opted in, your settings page says which of three things is true:

  • On the list — nobody has looked yet. You will hear only when something fits.
  • Looked at — someone went through the list and nothing fitted this time. You stay on it.
  • Introduced — an introduction you accepted has been made. You stay on the list for the next one.

This exists because an opt-in that never says anything feels like a form you shouted into.

Letting your employer be counted#

A second, separate switch: you may use where I work for introductions between members.

It is for an idea that does not exist yet. Two members could one day introduce each other into the companies they are applying to — you know someone at the company they want, they know someone at yours. That only works once enough people are here for matches to happen at all, so it is being measured before it is built.

With the switch on, your current employer is counted and nothing else. It is read from the Experience section of your About me — the entry with no end date — or you can type it. It is never shown to another member, never attached to your name anywhere, and nothing is built on it today. Off unless you switch it on, and switching it off stops the counting immediately.

Changing your mind#

Switch it off in settings and you are off the list at once. Nothing you have already agreed to is undone — an introduction that was made has been made — but nobody will be asked about you again.
