About me
The facts every AI feature works from — your experience, your skills, what you want next. Write it once; the assistant, practice and the job digest all read it.
About me is one page of plain text about your working life. Nothing on CVinfo.me reads your CV file directly; it reads this. Write it once and every AI feature in the product gets better at the same time.
Why it exists#
The assistant does not know you. Without About me it writes generic cover letters, asks generic interview questions and searches for generic jobs. With it, every answer starts from your actual experience.
Three features read it:
- AI assistant — cover letters, follow-ups, answers about your own history.
- Interview practice — questions drawn from your experience and the role you are applying to.
- Job digest — what to search for, when you have not said it yourself.
Writing it#
Go to About me in the menu. You can write it yourself, or upload your CV and let the AI draft it — then correct the draft. The draft is a starting point, not an answer: it is your working life, and only you know which parts matter.
A shape that works well:
## About
One or two sentences: what you do, and what you are looking for next.
## Experience
- 2021 – today · Lead data engineer, Acme GmbH — rebuilt the ingestion platform, 12 → 2 hours
- 2018 – 2021 · Data engineer, Globex — dbt and Airflow for the analytics team
## Skills
Python, dbt, Airflow, Spark, Postgres, Kubernetes
## Education
2018 · MSc Computer Science, TU Delft
The dates matter more than they look. An entry whose dates have no end — 2021 – today, since 2021 — is how the product knows which job is your current one. That is used for the job digest, and, only if you switch it on, for the introductions matching.
What happens to it#
It is yours. It is never shown on your public pages, never sent to anyone, and never used to match you with anybody unless you have switched that on yourself. You can read it back, change it or empty it at any time, and Settings → Your data downloads it along with everything else.
Keeping it current#
The job digest searches on what About me says you do. When you change roles or pick up a skill, change it here — everything downstream follows on its own.
